India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, in 2022, according to BJP national president, JP Nadda on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

While inaugurating the outpatient ward at AIIMS Bilaspur, the Rajya Sabha member also congratulated Jai Ram Thakur, the Himachal Pradesh chief minister, and the frontline workers for making the State the first in the country to fully vaccinate 100 per cent of its adult population against COVID-19.

The 750-bed medical institute will be completely ready by June 2022 and a budget of Rs 2,000 crore has been set aside for its annual upkeep. A total of Rs 44,000 crore is going to be invested in 22 AIIMS that are being built across the country under the PM’s leadership, informed Nadda.

Once the Bilaspur institute is up, patients won’t have to travel to Delhi or Chandigarh for treatment. Several COVID-19 workers were also honoured during the announcement.
