Meta, Facebook Inc as it was earlier known, has announced that it is offering a career and a certification programme in Augmented Reality (AR) on November 10, 2021. The course is available on the Spark AR company platform, which is also owned by Mark Zuckerberg.
The certification program is designed for the advanced level AR creators who are seeking to sharpen their AR skills in the marketplace, to help boost their careers or to pursue more opportunities to get hired by brands and agencies.
The course is termed as Spark AR Certification and Professional Course. To earn the certification, candidates will have to pass a virtual examination through facebook blueprint and also will have to pass all online practice tests.
The certification course is priced at USD 150. For the first 2,000 creators who join the list of interest, Facebook will cover the full cost of the fee.
Course outline :
- In the first step of the course, Spark AR instructors will teach you the fundamentals of the Spark AR platform to help you create engaging augmented reality effects.
- The candidate will have to take an online examination. The exam will be conducted in multiple-choice questions (MCQ) format.
- On passing the exam the candidate will earn the Facebook certified Spark AR Creator credential.

Part one - Before Diving In
Spark AR instructors who will teach you the fundamentals of the Spark AR platform to help you create engaging augmented reality effects.
Part two - Design and Concept
The candidates will be imparted with knowledge on how to develop concept designs, integrate elements into projects and create effects with a respect for accessibility within Spark AR.
Part three - Scene Assembly
Scene assembly introduces the fundamentals of Spark AR in augmented reality design, highlights the creation process and platform consolidations for optimal design.
Part four - Scene Interaction
Scene Interaction features Javascript as a method to help the candidate determine how to test and debug scene interactions and processing signals.
Part five - Testing and Deployment
Testing and Deployment offers methods of packaging project bundles to the candidates using the publishing upload workflow within Spark AR.
