In a significant development, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has made adjustments to the seat matrix for the special stray vacancy round of NEET UG counselling 2023. The committee has added 3 MBBS seats and removed other 3 MBBS and 1 BDS seats from the existing seat matrix. Candidates can review the updated seat information prior to making their choices on mcc.nic.in.

The MCC conveyed in an official notice, “The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has received information from following Institutes to remove/ add the following seats in the seat matrix of Special Stray Vacancy Round of UG Counselling 2023.”

Vinayaka Mission Medical College and Hospital, Puducherry, Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai, and Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Karnataka have collectively introduced 3 additional management seats.

Conversely, Government Dental College and Hospital, Tamil Nadu, has opted to withdraw 1 dental seat allocated for the OBC category. Furthermore, Government Medical College, Alwar, has made a similar decision, withdrawing 1 MBBS seat also designated for the OBC category. Additionally, College of Nursing, RML, has withdrawn 2 MBBS seats intended for both open and OBC categories.

MCC clarified, “The seats mentioned for withdrawal will be removed from the seat matrix of Special Stray Vacancy Round of UG Counselling 2023 before seat processing and the seats mentioned for addition have been added in the seat matrix. Thus candidates can now exercise choices for the same.”

This update underlines the dynamic nature of the counselling process, with institutions making strategic adjustments as per the needs of aspiring medical students.
