The counselling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 will begin on August 14, as per a notice issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on Monday, July 29, 2024, reported the PTI.

However, the registration for the counselling process is expected to start in the first week of August, according to Dr B Srinivas, Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Candidates are advised to regularly check the MCC website for the latest updates and notices regarding counselling.

"The counselling will take place for the allotment of approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats in around 710 medical colleges across the country. Also, the counselling will be held for 21,000 BDS seats besides Ayush and nursing seats," Srinivas stated.

Round 1:

  • Verification of tentative seat matrix by institutes and NMC: August 14-16
  • Registration and payment: August 14-21 (Registration up to noon, Payment facility closes at 3PM)
  • Choice filling and locking: August 16-20

The MCC will conduct counselling for the 15 per cent all-India quota (AIQ) seats, and 100 per cent of the seats in all AIIMS, JIPMER Pondicherry, all central universities, and all deemed universities.

On Friday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the final results of the NEET-UG exam, following the Supreme Court's resolution of several petitions alleging irregularities in the exam's conduct.
