Maruti Suzuki announces winners of its IIM-Bangalore-backed start-up incubation programme

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on February 25 announced the winners of the first edition of its incubation programme for start-ups, started in partnership with Nadathur S Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), the start-up hub at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore.

The winning start-ups are 'True Assistive', 'eShipz' and 'Hycube Works', MSI said in a statement.

"The early-stage start-ups which were a part of the programme brought about unique solutions through high-risk disruptive technologies. We are happy to work alongside Maruti Suzuki to extend a dynamic innovation environment to these start-ups," Anand Sri Ganesh, COO, NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore, said.

Maruti Suzuki Incubation Programme (MSIP) is a first-of-its-kind initiative by the company to help start-ups channelise their efforts to bring industry-ready solutions and become large scale businesses.

“The programme also helped start-ups cultivate skill sets to equip them to create highly scalable mobility solutions. We are excited to nurture many more futuristic solutions in the next cohort,” added Ganesh.

The managing director and CEO of MSI, Kenichi Ayukawa, said, "Established with an aim to work together with young minds to strengthen the mobility space, MSIP aligns with the government's focus and optimism in the start-up ecosystem. These early-stage start-ups will now get an opportunity to undertake a paid proof-of-concept with the auto major to co-create solutions using high-value disruptive technologies for actual business use.
