Manipal University Jaipur extended its ISDC (International Skill Development Corporation) partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU), to deliver US CMA qualification. ISDC is the UK-headquartered skill development and education company serving organisations worldwide and CMA (certified management accountant) is a globally recognised management accounting credential offered by IMA (Institute of Management Accountants), US and has been the global benchmark for management accountants and finance professionals.
The US CMA professional qualification consists of a two-part examination with 12 competencies including financial planning, performance, analytics, and strategic financial management and will equip the students with skill sets and expertise that can help them find, evaluate, and resolve the global industry-centric issues. Moreover, the partnership will also help the students to get access to in-depth understanding of industry-oriented finance and analytic tools, strategies, and management at an international level through intensive training sessions and webinars.
The MoU was signed by Nitu Bhatnagar, registrar, Manipal University Jaipur and Shone Babu, head of partnerships, ISDC. The MoU will enable Manipal University Jaipur to offer US CMA qualification along with its undergraduate Commerce degrees. ISDC has been working with Manipal University Jaipur Campus for a number of programmes since 2016.
Speaking about the collaboration, Bhatnagar said, “Through this globally recognised qualification our students will be benefited by strengthening their skill and knowledge in the finance and accounting arena. Also, the programme will provide growth prospects to the students with multiple career opportunities in finance and accounting positions at an international level.”
Tom Joseph, executive director for strategy and development, ISDC said, “ Management accountants are vital to the financial health of organisations. They make critical decisions, safeguard a company’s integrity, and plan for business sustainability. As the majority of the accounting and financial workforce, management accountants help drive an organisation’s strategy and value amid an unpredictable market. We are hopeful that this partnership will provide the students a better understanding of accounts, finance, and business, thereby creating several opportunities for them at a global level.”
