Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially announced the closure of registration for lateral entry admissions in class 9 and 11 for the academic year 2024-25. The registrations will conclude on October 31, 2023.
Prospective students can submit their applications for JNV Class 9 and 11 lateral entry through the official website, navodaya.gov.in. Selection will be based on their performance in the JNV Lateral Entry Selection Test.
The Selection Test for Class 9 and 11 is set to take place on February 10, 2024. The exam duration will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
In a notable shift, NVS expanded lateral entry admissions to include Class 11 students starting from 2023. This decision was articulated in an official notice: “In connection with Lateral Entry admission in class XI against vacant seats in JNVs, a decision is taken to conduct a selection test from the session 2023-24 onwards, as in the case of Lateral Entry Admission in Class IX.”
Eligibility Criteria for Lateral Entry 2024:
- For NVS Class 9 admission, only students who officially reside in the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is situated and are enrolled in Class 8 in 2023 (January to December Session) / 2023-24(April-2023 to March-2024 Session) at one of the district’s government recognised schools are eligible to apply.
- As for Class 11 admission, students who are bona fide residents and are currently studying in Class 10 in 2023 (January to December Session) / 2023-24(April-2023 to March-2024 Session) at one of the district’s government recognised schools are eligible to apply.
