More than 30 teachers from Kolkata were recently felicitated for their contribution in the field of education in a ceremony organised by Classplus, an online teaching platform.
The Classplus Edupreneur Awards ceremony held at The Park Hotel in Kolkata was attended by over 100 teachers from across the city on February 13.
According to a press communique from Classplus, the award show was dedicated to recognise the role Kolkata-based teachers play in educating the leaders of tomorrow.
The awards were presented under different categories including National Educator Award, Skilling India Award, Leading Collaborator Award, Edu-streamer Award, Super Star Award and King of Downloads Award.
The event included a session by the Classplus team which informed educators about the benefits of tutoring students online. Educators were informed about how they could develop their teaching business by going beyond offline classes and reaching more students from diverse locations through the Classplus online teaching platform.
“Educators are going beyond their call of duty to teach students across the country even during the toughest of times. What they are doing is commendable and that is why we, at Classplus, wanted to felicitate them for their remarkable contribution to the society,” said the communique from the Classplus team.
The event was also an opportunity for educators to network and derive inspiration from educators who have furthered their careers by combining teaching with technology.
Founded in 2015, the Noida based company is the first mobile platform in India that enabled educators to take their teaching institutions online. The learning app caters to educators, content creators and students. The app has helped over 1 lakh tutors reach around 25 million students across 3,000 cities. Using the app educators can communicate with students, conduct assessments and accept payments on a single platform.
