KIIT College of Education has conducted an online induction programme for its newly enrolled students in Bachelors of Education and Masters of Education degrees. The theme of the induction programme was, “Communication Skills: The Ladder to a Successful Journey”.

KIIT College of Education director Indira Dhull formally welcomed the students and gave them an orientation regarding the background, governing body, vision, mission and values of the institution.

Dhull said that the students will be able to explore their interests and abilities through the college. She added that the students will be able to use the facilities of the institution to excel in their careers, and the orientation programme will also help them build a strong relationship with their teachers.

Following the welcome address and orientation, a session on capacity building, soft skills and personality development was offered by Ashish Dahiya, a professor at the Institute of Hotel & Tourism Management and director of Centre for Life Skills & Soft Skills, MD University Rohtak.

Dahiya spoke about the importance of developing life skills, how to write a resume, how to face an interview and how to develop one’s personality for personal and professional life.

Soon after, KIIT Group of Colleges registrar Neelima Kamrah held an interactive session on “Gender Sensitization”, where she spoke about the importance of the issue and realized the responsibility to raise awareness about it.

The students were introduced to all the faculty members and were told about regularity, punctuality and developing communication skills. Emphasis was also given on professional ethics to become a good teacher.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by faculty member Ravneet Kaur, followed by the National Song.

KIIT College of Education offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education. It was founded in 1969 and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), approved by and affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University.
