Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar has achieved record campus placement with more than 270 companies offering over 4,200 jobs to a batch of 3,500 eligible BTech students graduating in 2022, the varsity stated in a press communique recently.
The campus placement season for the year 2022 started in May 2021 and KIIT is already poised to achieve 100% campus placement for yet another year, said Sasmita Samanta, the vice-chancellor of the deemed university.
“More than 3,000 students got single placement offers, while the top 1500 students were placed in their dream companies with an average CTC of Rs 8.10 lakh per annum. Thirty-five companies offered annual CTC of Rs 10 lakh and above, while over 130 companies offered CTC of Rs 5 lakh,” said Saranjit Singh, pro-vice-chancellor, KIIT.
This year, 50 new companies have participated in the placement process so far. This year, the first day of the placement drive saw offers to 1,500 students from MNCs with an average CTC of Rs 8.10 lakh per annum. The first day of the campus recruitment drive generated about 2,000 job offers from four companies.
Five students bag annual package of Rs 52 lakh
A total of five students from the institute have received placement offers with an annual pay of Rs 52 lakh, KIIT stated in its communique.
The average CTC this year is Rs 6.05 lakh, which is 30% higher than the previous year. More than 3000 students are already placed and over 1,200 students bagged multiple job offers.
KIIT has been proactively creating an interface with the leading names in the industry. This is facilitating the placement of KIIT students in various national and multinational companies. For instance, HighRadius, a FinTech company, in collaboration with KIIT, has established a FinTech Lab in the KIIT campus. More than 2000 students are getting one-year experiential learning internship with a stipend of Rs. 15,000 per month at this facility. HighRadius has provided placement to more than 710 students of KIIT with an annual package of Rs. 8 lakh.
In 2020, KIIT achieved 100% placement in BTech, MBA, and Biotech, while more than 50% placement in Law. It also achieved record placement in 2021. Students from across India and 53 other countries pursue professional and technical education at KIIT.
