KIIT Deemed to be University has taken yet another significant step towards self-sufficiency. For the second year in a row, KIIT DU has surpassed others to emerge as the top self-financing institution in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) 2021.
Achyuta Samanta, the founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), took to Twitter to congratulate all the students and staff for this spectacular achievement and consistent performance.
"It is the second time in a row that KIIT has been ranked numero uno by this prestigious ranking. Innovation, I believe, is the touchstone of Research and Development in University, which sets apart one institution from other. KIIT has always leveraged exploration and innovation by creating an ecosystem that facilitates research & innovation. Wishing KIIT Godspeed and assuring our commitment to innovate, research and carry on our outreach,” Samanta tweeted.
KIIT and KISS have also topped other national-level rankings.
Rankings and recognition KIIT DU received throughout the year:
• Ranked 251-300 in the Emerging Economies University rankings by Times Higher Education (THE)
• Ranked 30 in the overall category among Indian universities in the Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2021. It ranked 15 in the general engineering (overall category) in the country
• Jumped up 200 positions globally to be placed in the cohort of 801-1000 in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2022
• India’s first QS 5 Stars Rated University by being awarded 5 Stars in all categories of QS criteria
• Ranked 201-300 in the Impact Rankings - 2021 by Times Higher Education and 86th in ‘Reduced Inequalities’ globally
• Ranked 21 among Indian Universities by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India - 2021
• Leadership & Management Team of the Year in the Times Higher Education Awards Asia, for its zeal to respond to the unknown and involvement in serving society (expanding free COVID hospitals, distributing masks and sanitiser and community education)
The year 2021 began with the hope of adjusting to the New Normal. Despite all uncertainties and challenges, KIIT and KISS worked in full swing and registered several achievements in academics, social work, innovation in governance, placements, sports and more.
