The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially announced that the WBJEE 2024 is scheduled to take place on April 28, 2024. This exam opens doors for aspiring candidates seeking admission into esteemed engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture programmes offered by various universities and colleges across West Bengal.
As per eligibility criteria, applicants should have attained a minimum age of 17 years by December 31, 2024. Notably, there is no upper age limit, with the exception of the Marine Engineering programme, which sets an upper age limit of 25 years as of December 31, 2024.
Candidates aiming to apply for WBJEE 2024 must have completed Class 12 as regular students from a recognised board, with compulsory subjects including physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, computer science, biotechnology, or computer application. A minimum of 45% aggregate marks in these three subjects is required. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories will benefit from a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks for the qualifying exam. Additionally, students in the process of appearing for the Class 12 board exam are also eligible to apply.
In terms of the registration fee, candidates from the unreserved category are required to submit an admission fee of ₹500, while those from SC, ST, OBC-A, and OBC-B categories will need to provide a ₹400 application fee.
The WBJEE 2024 will consist of 155 questions divided across three categories - Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3. Each correct answer will be awarded two marks. However, in category 1, each incorrect response will lead to a loss of .25 mark while .5 mark will be deducted in Category 2. Further, Category 3 will not have any negative marking.
