Jaipur’s JK Lakshmipat University, in collaboration with St. Cloud State University, USA and Atal Incubation Centre, is set to organise a two-day international conference aimed at brainstorming over a sustainable future for education.

Titled ‘Sustainable Future: Innovations in Education’, the conference will be inaugurated on February 25.

With several industries moulding their business structure to meet sustainability goals, the conference aims to bring all stakeholders in the world of academics to a single platform to collectively discuss and deliberate on different aspects of bringing sustainability in the field of education.

The summit will be attended by several dignitaries including Padma Vibhushan awardee nuclear scientist Anil Kakodkar; Padmashri awardee Sudhir Jain, vice-chancellor of Banaras Hindu University; and Krishna Vedula, dean emeritus at the University of Massachusetts.

The summit will include technical sessions and research paper presentations by several international and national luminaries.

The conference will include technical sessions on several topics related to education. ‘Education for Creating Better World’, ‘Tools for Teaching and Learning Effectiveness’, ‘Educational Policy and Governance’, ‘Future Trends in Engineering Education’, ‘Building Competence in Changing World’, ‘Role of Ed-Tech in Changing the Education Landscape in Future’, ‘Models of Financing Education’ and ‘Future of Education: Learnings from Past and COVID-19’ are some of the topics for the technical sessions.

Special sessions will also be held on different topics. Some of the topics for these special sessions are ‘Educational Practices for Special Needs’, ‘EdTech Start-ups: Technological Solutions in Education’ and ‘Innovations in School Education’.

The conference will be preceded by a workshop on ‘Secret Sauce of Future Proof Learning’ on February 23 and a webinar on ‘Innovations in School Education’ on February 24.

Dheeraj Sanghi, vice-chancellor of JK Lakshmipat University, said,

“At JKLU, we are excited to organise the 10th edition of our annual international conference around the United Nations’ SDGs. This year, our theme is centred around innovations in education for a sustainable future. The conference provides a premier inter-disciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Education for Sustainable Development.”

“The United Nations has also proposed quality education as one of the sustainable development goals. Education has a large impact not only on sustainability but also on quality of life in general,” he added.

The academic partners for the conference are IIT Roorkee, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Jammu, IIT Bhilai, MNIT Jaipur and the Central University of Rajasthan.
