The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) paper-1 in BTech and BE was administered in shift 2 by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 30 January 2023 from 3 PM to 6 PM. There were 300 total marks in the exam.

Mathematics: More questions from class 11 were asked. 3D, vector, and integration were among the topics covered. Long calculations were necessary for both MCQs and numerically-based problems. Some students felt that this segment was lengthy and difficult.

Physics: There were questions on EM waves, semiconductor optics, and modern physics. Questions centered on numbers were rated as being simple. Overall, this section was well-balanced.

Chemistry: Chemical bonds, the periodic table, IOC, and qualitative analysis were all covered. Compared to Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry received more weight in the Numerical Section.
