The Indian School Certificate (ISC) 2022 Semester 2 exams for Class XII kickstarted on April 26 with English Paper-I, which most students and teachers in Kolkata found balanced and interesting.
Anushri Modi, from La Martinere for Girls School, Kolkata found the essay topics in the English language paper particularly interesting and “fun to answer”.
“My English paper went well, and I feel that the essay topics were very unique and interesting this time. I hope to do well in the remaining papers as well so that I can maintain a good overall average,” said Anushri.
The ISC examinations have been divided into two semesters this year. The first semester was held in November 2021. The English Paper-I in the first semester comprised composition and grammar portions. The semester 2 paper was based on writing skills.
Academics also seemed satisfied with the feedback of examinees. Runa Chatterjee, headmistress, The Heritage School, Kolkata said that some of the topics in the descriptive section were similar to the ones the students answered during their pre-board exams.
“The children of Class XII who wrote their first exam for ISC Semester 2 were happy. They said that the English Language paper was easy and they are confident of getting good marks. They had been given similar topics in their pre-board examinations as given in the descriptive section today,” Chatterjee said.
The ISC 2022 Semester 2 exams will end on June 13 with Geography, Geometrical and Mechanical Drawing and Electricity and Electronics papers. The results are expected to be announced in the month of July.
Students followed strict COVID-19 safety measures at the examination centres in various CISCE affiliated schools across the state. The examinees underwent thermal screening before entering the exam hall and maintained social distance.
