The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has unveiled the important details for the upcoming Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. This highly anticipated exam serves as a gateway to prestigious postgraduate programmes and coveted jobs in the engineering field.
Exam Pattern
The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted online in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for a duration of 3 hours. Candidates can expect a mix of question types, including Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions, and possibly Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) depending on the chosen subject. The total marks for the exam will be 100, divided across two sections: General Aptitude (15 marks), and Subject Questions (85 marks).
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for GATE 2025, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, or Humanities from a recognised university in India or abroad. Final year students and third-year students with a valid scorecard can also apply.
While the official notification from IIT Roorkee is awaited, according to the trends GATE 2025 syllabus is expected to be released in August 2024. The application window is likely to open in September 2024, with the exam itself scheduled for February 2025.
