Interested candidates will be able to register for GATE 2025 online through the GOAPS (Gate Online Application Processing System).

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee will begin the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 registration process tomorrow, August 28. Previously the application submission process was set to commence on August 24, which was later postponed.

Interested candidates will be able to register for GATE 2025 online through the GOAPS (Gate Online Application Processing System). Once the registration window opens, applicants will need to provide their personal and academic details, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee.

Documents Required for Application Process

  • Candidate’s photograph
  • Candidate’s signature
  • Scanned copy of the SC/ST certificate (if applicable)
  • Scanned copy of the PwD certificate (if applicable)
  • Scanned copy of the certificate of Dyslexia (if applicable)
  • Scanned copy of the photo identity document (Aadhaar-UID/Passport/PAN Card/Voter ID/Driving License)

Exam Pattern

  • Mode and Question Type - The exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode, featuring a mix of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), multiple-select questions (MSQs), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
  • Number of Papers - Thirty test papers and each is for a total of 100 marks.
  • Exam Sessions - Forenoon (9.30 AM to 12.30 PM) and afternoon (2.30 PM to 5.30 PM) on each exam day.
  • Number of Questions - The exam will comprise a total of 65 questions, split between General Aptitude (10 questions) and the core subject (55 questions).
  • Duration - Candidates will have three hours to complete the exam, however, PwBD examinees will be given an additional hour.
