Students at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi has done well in pre-placements this academic year, and more offers are expected in 2022–2023.
As of 16 November 2022, 69 PPOs had already been extended to IIT Mandi students for the 2022–23 academic year, compared to 56 offers for the entire 2021–22 academic year. PPOs will continue to be made up until the first day of campus placements, which is set for 1 December 2022.
The institute started offering students six-month internships, which significantly increased the number of semester-long internships. For undergraduate students, this directly translated to more Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs). The exceptional performance of students during their internships is the cause of the PPOs' ongoing increase.
Both on-campus and virtual drives are welcome at IIT Mandi. The type of interview can be chosen by recruiters. To avoid conflicts and lessen stress among the students, the institute only hosts a maximum of one or two companies each day.
According to the institute, the majority of PPOs to date have been in the data science and software analyst industries during the current academic year. This year, the institute has already earned one international PPO, and more are expected.
A number of large multinational corporations, including Sprinklr, Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Indeed, Uber, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Siemens, Samsung Research Institute Bangalore, Schrodinger, Walmart, Zomato, Texas Instruments, ODE, Arista Networks, Yum, Radisys, Accenture, Aakash+Byju, Nucleus Software, Western Digital, and Nohara Holdings, Inc., participated and offered PPOs to IIT Mandi students.
