IIT Kharagpur students receive the highest placement among all IITs

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has recorded the highest placement this season among all IITs with 1,600 job offers. The highest offer made to a student this year was Rs 2.4 crore.

The feat was achieved in just the first phase of the placement. The target was achieved within 10 days and the first phase was completed by December 11. The second phase of the placements will take place in the second week of January 2022.

The first phase of the placement session saw big giants like Google, Microsoft, Micron Technology, Uber, Honeywell, Excel and many more valuable partners hiring the students.

The Career Development Centre (CDC) at IIT Kharagpur also received 400-plus pre-placement offers (PPO). The institute placed more than 1,500 students on December 7, the seventh day of its placement drive — more than all the previous years’ total placement figures.

Students received over 22 offers in the CTC range of Rs 90 lakh- Rs 2.4 crore, more than 10 of them from Indian companies. The total international offers numbered more than 35. The average hires per company have also gone up, leading to an overall increase in the number of offers per day.

More than 245 companies from various sectors, including high-level coding, software, analytics, core engineering companies, banking/finance, consulting, high frequency trading, took part in the placement drive.

A Rajakumar, the chairman of the Career Development Centre at IIT Kharagpur, thanked the recruiters. “Thank you for the wonderful cooperation and we look forward to nourish the relationship and expedite more,” he said.
