The registration window for the IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2025 closes today, October 18, marking the final opportunity for candidates to apply for the prestigious postgraduate programmes at IITs and other participating institutes. Interested candidates who have not registered yet must complete the process through the JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System) portal, before the deadline.
Steps to Complete IIT JAM 2025 Registration
For candidates still completing their registration, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply;
- Visit the official application portal at joaps.iitd.ac.in.
- Complete registration to obtain the enrolment ID and password.
- Login with the credentials and fill out the application form.
- Upload all the required documents.
- Make the payment of the application fee.
- Review and submit the application form.
While filling out the application form candidates must keep in mind that they can appear for a maximum of two test papers, provided that they are not scheduled in the same session. As for choosing their preferred test cities, they can select up to three options ranking them in first, second, and third order.
The window to edit/change the examination cities/test papers/category/gender will be active till November 18, 2024.
IIT JAM 2025 Exam Pattern
The IIT JAM 2025 will be conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The exam consists of seven papers, each focused on a specific subject. The duration of the test is 3 hours, and the paper is divided into three sections:
- Section A: 30 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
- Section B: 10 multiple select questions (MSQs)
- Section C: 20 numerical answer-type questions (NATs)
The total marks for the exam are 100, with negative marking applicable only in Section A.
IIT JAM 2025 exam will be conducted on February 2, 2025, in two sessions (9.30 AM to 12.30 PM and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM).
