Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi alumnus Vivek Vaidya has pledged Rs 10 crore to the institute’s endowment fund.

Vaidya is the latest addition to the league of founders of the IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation’s board.

Vaidya has already transferred Rs 2.25 Crore as a first tranche of his contribution. Vaidya says he has wonderful memories of his alma mater and always wished to give back. The endowment fund has given Vaidya that opportunity.

Vaidya received an MS degree in Mathematics and Computing from IIT Delhi and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Denver, USA.

A serial entrepreneur and technology leader who has set up industry leading technology companies in enterprise software, data management, analytics, and machine learning/Al in the past 25 years, Vaidya is the co-founder, general partner, and CTO of Super(set}, a start-up studio that founds, funds, and builds data-driven technology companies. He also serves as the co-founder and CTO of Ketch and Markov ML.

V Ramgopal Rao, the director of IIT Delhi and chairman of the IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation, welcomed Vaidya’s association. “Looking at the progress made by the IIT Delhi Endowment Fund in just over two years of its launch, there is no doubt that this initiative has turned out to be a milestone event in the institute’s history. We are happy to welcome Vivek Vaidya as a founder member of the Endowment Fund and look forward to Vivek’s active involvement in the institute’s activities and future growth plans,” Rao saod.

Arun Duggal, an esteemed alumnus and co-chairman, IIT Delhi Endowment Management Foundation, too, welcomed Vaidya. “I would like to extend my heartiest welcome to Vivek as founder in IIT Delhi Endowment Fund. It is great to have a distinguished professional like him join the founder group to give back to our alma mater”.

IIT Delhi’s alumni include world-renowned scientists, successful entrepreneurs, world-class managers, and leaders of society. With such a well-connected alumni network in India and all over the world, the institute is hopeful of getting constant support.
