The Indian Institute of Management (IIM Sambalpur) has marked a significant milestone by commencing classes for its inaugural MBA batch designed exclusively for working professionals in Delhi. This unique program offers specializations in data science, product management, innovation, startup management, and various other functional domains.
The introduction of this MBA program was led by Poonam Kumar, Chairperson of MBA for Professionals, and the event was skillfully moderated by Amrut Mohanty. The vote of thanks was delivered by SH Rao.
The MBA program in Delhi welcomed an 80-year-old entrepreneur, GM Gupta, who shared his profound passion for learning. Gupta, who had previously earned a PhD, operates a startup in the defense sector and boasts extensive experience working with DCM Shriram. He believes that acquiring new technologies, gaining knowledge through case studies, and unlearning outdated approaches will empower him to manage his startup more effectively.
Alok Kumar Mishra, Joint Secretary of the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, highlighted the National Education Policy (NEP 2020)'s credit system, which enables students to collaborate across institutions within India and abroad.
Mahadeo Jaiswal, director of the IIM Sambalpur said, “As the industries are evolving, the need for management education similarly has also evolved. It is important to promote innovation-driven entrepreneurship which has created the need for Indian B-schools to foster innovation and integrity. I think these factors will have a positive impact on the country's GDP in times to come.”
