The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) will commence the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 registration process from August 1. Students who wish to appear in the entrance exam can visit the official website at iimcat.ac.in to register. The registration window will remain open until September 13.

The entrance exam is scheduled to take place on November 24 in three shifts: from 8.30AM to 10.30AM in the morning, 12.30PM to 2.30PM in the afternoon, and 4.30PM to 6.30PM in the evening.

How to Apply

  2. On the homepage, find the link for registration and click on it.
  3. Fill in the application form with necessary details.
  4. Make the payment and take a printout of the form for future reference.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognised university.
  • Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Differently Abled (DA) categories will be given a five per cent relaxation, allowing them to qualify with 45% marks or equivalent CGPA.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for the exam is two thousand five hundred rupees for general and OBC category candidates, and one thousand two hundred and twenty five rupees for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates.

Exam Pattern

  • The CAT 2024 exam will have three sections: verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC), data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR), and quantitative aptitude (QA).
  • There will be a total of 66 questions in the CAT 2024 paper.
  • As per the marking scheme, candidates will receive three marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
  • Notably, there will be no negative marking for unattempted questions.

The exam will be conducted in 170 cities, an increase from 167 cities last year. Candidates can now select up to five cities, a reduction from six in previous years. Admit cards will be issued in due course. It is essential for candidates to thoroughly review the registration procedure details before submitting their online applications.
