Facility services management is now a 3-year degree programme offered by IGNOU's School of Tourism and Hospitality Services Management. The first programme of its type in India trains students for employment in facility services management with a BA in Facility and Services Management (BAFSM).
Interested individuals can submit an application for the BAFSM programme at the IGNOU's official website. For selection, applicants must have completed Class 12 or the equivalent. English will be the primary language of instruction throughout the three-year programme. Both the current July 2022 session and the upcoming January session will accept applications from students.
Vice Chancellor Nageshwar Rao introduced the programme on 23 August 2022 at the IGNOU headquarters. According to him, the curriculum is structured in a modular way that allows students to opt-in and out after a year or two, which is in line with the guidelines of the New Education Policy (NEP 2020).
