The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) had invited applications for the “Student Innovation Award for the year 2022.” Students who have enrolled in IGNOU and have developed something new, and innovative can submit their applications in the said format for the Student Innovation Award 2022.
The selected best three entries will be awarded trophies, certificates and a cash prize of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. The last date for receiving the applications from students is September 30, 2022. The details regarding the application form and the prescribed format are available on the official website of IGNOU- ignou.ac.in.
A statement from IGNOU reads, “Recognizing the importance of research and innovation in the overall growth and development of the nation, IGNOU has been emphasizing on the recognition and promotion of the innovator students in different fields from across the country.”
The scheme of the Student Innovation Award was introduced by the National Centre for Innovation in Distance Education (NCIDE) at IGNOU back in 2018. The annual awards are honoured to the best Three Innovators. The other shortlisted Potential Innovators are provided with various kinds of training and support to take their innovation to the next level, giving a whole dimension to it by the university. They are also provided with the opportunity to participate in other various other competitions organized by the Ministry and other organizations.
