The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced an extension of the last date for fresh admissions for the July session, giving eligible students more time to enroll. The new deadline for fresh admissions is now September 20, 2023. This extension comes as a relief for candidates who haven't applied yet, as the previous cutoff date was September 10.

In addition to fresh admissions, IGNOU has also extended the re-registration deadline for previous semester candidates with a late fee. Students who wish to re-register can do so by visiting the official IGNOU website at ignou.ac.in.

For fresh admissions to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs, applicants should register at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Meanwhile, candidates interested in online courses can apply at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.

The late fee for re-registration is set at Rs 200, and this extended opportunity allows previous semester candidates to secure their continued education at IGNOU.

In an official tweet, IGNOU stated, "The last date for fresh admission for July 2023 cycle for all Programmes (except certificate and Semester based Programmes) for both Online and ODL mode has been extended till 20th Sept 2023."

Furthermore, they added, "Last date for Re-Registration with a late fee of Rs-200/- (for both Online and ODL mode) has been extended till 20th Sept 2023."

The university has also provided a set of guidelines for applicants, including the importance of providing accurate contact information, carefully selecting courses after reviewing program details, making timely payments, and not waiting until the last submission date. Payments for the application fee can be made through credit cards, debit cards, or net banking.

Students must ensure they have the following documents ready for registration:
