The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has outlined guidelines for candidates set to take the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) in 2023. Scheduled for November 4, 2023, the CSEET examination will be conducted remotely, deviating from the traditional exam centre format. A second session of the CSEET exam is slated for January 6, 2024.
Contrary to the usual practice, candidates will now have the privilege of using their personal laptops or desktops to participate in the CSEET. However, electronic devices such as mobile phones, tablets and similar gadgets are strictly prohibited during the examination. Furthermore, candidates' progress will be monitored via video and audio streams by the supervisor, known as proctor, as if they are appearing in the examination at centres.
The CSEET will span a duration of 2 hours and present a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format with four distinct sections, each weighted at 50 marks. These sections consist of Business Communication, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, Economic and Business Environment, and Current Affairs along with Quantitative Aptitude.
Prior to commencing the test, candidates must download and verify the Safe Exam Browser (SEBLite) on their desktop or laptop. Notably, the installation of SEBLite will be possible only on successful completion and submission of the CSEET. The candidate will not be allowed to start the test and no questions will appear if they fail to download the Safe Exam Browser.
To ensure seamless participation, candidates must present their admit card along with a government-issued identity card, be it a passport, driver's license, PAN card, UID Aadhaar card, or voter card, for thorough verification by the remote proctors.
Candidates are advised to log in to the exam portal a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the examination. Post the initial 15 minutes, candidates will not be granted entry, and no submissions will be entertained prior to 90 minutes into the test duration.
