The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that it will reopen the registration window for the online submission of application forms for the Chartered Accountants (CA) Final and Post Qualification Course (PQC) exams, including the Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) Technical Examination and the International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT-AT). This special window will be available for two days, from Wednesday, September 11, to Thursday, September 12, until 11.59PM. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website at icai.org.
Application Fees
Candidates submitting their applications during this extended period will be required to pay a late fee of INR 600 or US $10. The November 2024 examination cycle for these courses remains on schedule as planned.
The ICAI clarified that this decision to reopen the application window is a one time measure taken after receiving requests from students. The requests followed the Institute's recent move to shorten the application deadline from the usual 28 days to 17 days, leaving many students with limited time to complete their registrations.
Rationale for the 17-Day Deadline Reduction
The ICAI has introduced a 17-day registration window to better align with the schedules of the Chartered Accountants Intermediate and Foundation exams, which are now being planned three times a year. This adjustment is part of ICAI's effort to maintain a consistent timeline for various examination processes. The Institute emphasised that all students must adhere to the new 17-day deadline for all future Chartered Accountants exams.
