In a major move since its foundation the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has decided to conduct the CA Foundation and Intermediate Courses thrice a year from 2024. Till now, both the examinations were being held twice a year.
However, there will be no changes in the interval of The CA Final Examination. It will be conducted twice a year as before. Thus, students will be able to appear in the CA Foundation and Intermediate Examinations at an interval of four months in place of six months.

Making the announcement at a press conference in Kolkata on Friday, CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, the President of ICAI said that the decision has been reached to provide students with more opportunities to sit in the exam.
"Globally, the frequency of examination is more. Hence, students get more opportunities to sit in the exam. Considering this, ICAI has decided to increase the frequency of the CA Foundation and Intermediate Examination from twice to thrice per year," said CA Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal.
"The CA Foundation and Intermediate exam will now be held in the months of May, September and January. This will benefit the students who have completed their course to appear in the examination. However, there will be no changes in the interval of the CA Final examination. It will be held twice a year," he added.
A total of 4,36,500 students have enrolled themselves for the examination to be conducted in the month of May/June.
