On its official website, icai.org, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) published a notification describing the exemptions from taking the CA Intermediate and CA Final exams under the New Scheme of Education and Training. The exemptions will be valid for the May 2024 ICAI CA test.

The institute states that it will exempt current students who have already passed the required papers under the previous system from taking the CA Intermediate and CA Final exams under the new syllabus.

According to a statement released by the ICAI, "For the Final CA exams, the council has decided to continue awarding exemption in a paper or papers to a candidate, granted earlier under the old, existing scheme, for the unexpired chance(s) of the exemption in the corresponding paper(s) approved by the council under the new scheme."

The council added, "A candidate who has passed in any one of the Final Examination groups under the existing scheme but not both groups shall be eligible for exemption in that particular group and shall be required to appear and pass in the remaining group or paper(s) in order to pass the CA Final examination under the new scheme."
