In the wake of the bad weather and the damage-caused by the torrential rains, the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) has postponed the HP Administrative Service Competitive-preliminary exam 2023.
HPPSC had announced to hold the HPPSC HPAS-prelims exam 2023 on 23 July, however, the examination has been postponed to 20 August. “Consequent upon widespread damage to the roads caused due to unprecedented rains and in view of bad weather, the Commission has decided to re-schedule the said examination. Therefore, it is for the information of all concerned that now the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service Competitive (Preliminary) Examination-2023 will be held on 20th August, 2023,” the official statement read.
The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced Rs 1 lakh to all the affected families. As per reports, 31 people have been killed in three days in landslides and floods which blocked nearly 1,300 roads and damaged 40 major bridges.
The HPAS exam is conducted for recruitment to various posts in different departments of Government of Himachal Pradesh. Through the recruitment exam, vacancies in post such as Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service (HPAS) and other posts such as tehsildar, block development officer and treasury officer, Himachal Pradesh Police Service, district controller, class- I (Gazetted) in the department of food civil supplies and consumer affairs, will be filled.
