The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced the examination programme (new syllabus) for Higher Secondary 2023. The dates for the exam in 2023 were announced on June 10 after Higher Secondary 2022 results were declared by the Council.
In an official communication, the Council has informed that HS 2023 will be held from March 14, till March 27, 2023 and the exam timings on all days will be from 10 AM till 1.15 PM (except #vocational subjects).
The schedule of exams are as follows:
March 14, Tuesday -- Bengali (A), English (A), Hindi (A), Nepali (A), Urdu, Santhali, Odia, Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi
March 16, Thursday -- English (B), Bengali (B), Hindi (B), Nepali (B) and Alternative English
March 17, Friday -- Vocational subjects ( #Healthcare, #Automobile, #Organised retailing, #Security, #IT & ITeS, #Electronics, #Tourism & Hospitality, #Plumbing, #Construction, #Apparel, #Beauty and wellness, #Agriculture and #Power)
March 18, Saturday -- Biological Science, Business Studies and Political Science
March 20, Monday -- Mathematics, Psychology, Anthropology, Agronomy and History
March 21, Tuesday -- Computer science, Modern Computer Application, Environmental Studies, #Health & Physical Education, #Music, # Visual Arts
March 22, Wednesday -- Commercial Law and Preliminaries of Auditing, Philosophy, Sociology
March 23, Thursday -- Physics, Nutrition, Education, Accountancy
March 24, Friday -- Economics
March 25, Saturday -- Chemistry, Journalism & Mass Communication, Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic, French
March 27, Monday -- Statistics, Geography, Costing and Taxation, Home Management and Family Resource Management .
Examination will be held only in one paper each day where the allotted time of 3hrs 15 minutes would include both reading question papers and writing the answers, except #health & physical education, visual arts, music and vocational subjects.
For #subjects, examination will be of 2 hours duration.
All practical examinations will be held between December 5, 2022 and December 21, 2022.
The Council, if necessary, may change the above dates with notifications on its website . Exams will be held on the complete syllabus and in the earlier mode of allotting exam centres. This year, the exams were held from home centres in keeping with Covid safety measures.
