“Students have been away from normal school life for a long time. The social loss for our young minds is huge. So, we want to make them comfortable first. They must be given some time to interact with their peers and teachers. They must enjoy coming back to school,” said Sarbari Brahma, principal, Griffins International School, Kharagpur.

Teachers are making greeting cards for all the students. The reception and classrooms will be decorated. “For the few days, we have asked students them not to bring any books and notebooks. We intend to conduct frequent outdoor classes in the garden and the amphitheatre,” the principal said.

GIS has a huge campus and the school administration wants to make maximum use of it. Campus and hostel tours will be arranged for students new to the school.

“We have planned some fun-filled team and confidence-building games like Treasure Hunt, Perfect Square, No Smiling and Battle of the Designer. These games require minimum or no contact but will help lift spirit,” Brahma said.

The school will strictly adhere t COVID-safety norms. “Safety committee members of the school will be on duty along with subject teachers to monitor the same at all the times,” she said.
