Frequent flyers may travel by electric airplanes in the future, Amit Gupta, the chief of Rolls-Royce Electricals, Rolls-Royce-Singapore, said recently at a programme hosted by Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Addressing the engineering students of AMU in a programme hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Gupta said that the possibility of travelling by electric aircrafts was likely to become a reality with aerospace company Rolls-Royce Holdings gradually gaining ground in the buzzy market for electric aviation.

“Since air travel and cargo is currently the most carbon intensive activity, there is a pressing need for operating aircrafts with more electrical power as a way to achieve sustainable development,” said Gupta.
