Students learn about the visa process and accommodation options and received guidance
Ireland has reopened its doors to Indian students. Those looking to pursue undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) in Ireland in the 2022-23 academic year attended a pre-departure briefing organised by Education in Ireland, in association with the Embassy of Ireland and the Visa Office in New Delhi.
The in-person briefing sessions were held in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. Representatives from Irish higher education institutes as well as visa and government officials shared key tips with the students. Visa officials simplified the visa process details and shared information to make the application process easy.
A presentation by the Irish government detailed accommodation options. At the event’s high tea reception, students were able to freely network with peers and officials.
“We’re emerging from the pandemic and students across the world are determined to pursue their study abroad dreams. In order to be more accessible to Indians, several of Ireland’s higher education institutions have been very active in India and have invested in an on-ground presence. Besides, an increasing number of Indian students are motivated to explore academic options in their fields of interest and have chosen Ireland as one of their preferred destinations. For the academic year 2022-23, Ireland is also equally excited to welcome them to the world-class education offered by our higher education institutions and to help pave their future path with a two-year stay-back option that enables students to achieve their career goals,” said Brendan Ward, Ireland’s ambassador to India.
Ireland has continued to welcome international students even after the pandemic. Several safety measures by the Irish Government have led to the gradual removal of all pandemic related restrictions. The country’s adult population has been fully vaccinated and over 50% have received their booster doses. Students can now, without any restriction, experience learning in Ireland.
