Delhi University (DU) has announced that it will hold its third, fifth and seventh semester examinations for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes online and in an open-book format. The examinations are scheduled to begin from November 30, 2021.
According to the notice from the university, examinations for students registered with the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB) shall also begin from November 30, 2021.
The examinations are to be conducted in two sessions in one day for a duration of three hours each. The final date sheet for the examination will be issued in the first week of November 2021.
Candidates appearing for the exams can write from their homes, faculty, department or from their colleges in an online mode, according to their selection of choice in the examination form.
The university is to conduct internal assessment, practical, viva voce, project, orals (moot courts), apprenticeship, internship and field work by December 14, 2021 for the academic session 2021-2022.
According to the university the colleges are to conduct internal assignments instead of the existing three components that included class tests, tutorial test and attendance for the candidates internal assessment. Teachers are to give the assignment to the students in the prescribed format via email or Google classroom. Students are to submit the solved assignment via email according to the deadline given by the college.
For practical examinations also the teachers are to give students assignments and the students are to complete the given task and submit it via email within the given time period.
Viva voce and moot courts can be conducted, wherever applicable, through Skype or other online teaching applications. Students should be allowed to take up internships that can be conducted virtually or from home. Candidates can engage as interns in ongoing projects and the starting date for the internship can be delayed. The period of internship can be reduced by clubbing with assignments.
The evaluation of dissertations of UG and PG programmes is to be conducted based on written assignments.
According to the university, appropriate measures have to be adopted to facilitate the UG and PG students submitting projects or dissertations. Review-based, secondary data-based projects or software-driven projects are to be accepted by the college instead of laboratory-based experiments or field and survey-based assignments.
