Delhi University (DU) has deferred the first round of seat allocation to Wednesday i.e. 19 October, the decision was confirmed by DU vice-chancellor, Yogesh Singh. The merit list based on CUET score for undergraduate admissions will be available at the official website — du.ac.in.
The decision was taken by the University after the Supreme Court said that it would hear the plea by St. Stephen’s College on Wednesday. St. Stephen’s College filed a petition against the Delhi High Court order, in which it advised the college to conduct admissions solely on the basis of CUET UG results and not conduct interviews for the seats. Referring to the matter, the Supreme Court (SC) said that the matter needs consideration.
Candidates who successfully completed the UG admission registration are requested to keep a close check on the official website of the University of Delhi for the latest updates on DU's first cut-off list. "It is the responsibility of the candidate to login to the dashboard and check if a seat is allocated in a given round of seat allocation, and if allocated s(he) must complete all admission formalities," read the official notice.
The university for the first time is conducting admissions based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) instead of Class 12 Board exam scores. The first semester will begin in November 2022 and end in March 2023, according to the schedule released.
