Global study-abroad platform Leverage Edu has opened its first office in Sydney, Australia.

The company, headquartered in India, started operations in the United Kingdom last year and Nigeria in the beginning of this year.

“We have been building the foundation for our foray into Australia for a while and have admitted quality students into the country pre-pandemic. Our students are excited about the kind of opportunities Australia brings with it. There has been a growing positive student sentiment towards the country in the last four months and we believe the future is only bright from here!” said Akshay Chaturvedi, founder and CEO of Leverage Edu.

The LeverageEdu.com platform receives a massive audience of more than 75 million students annually and conducts over 100,000 counselling sessions every month. It has 350-plus university partners globally.

Jack Whaley, previously with Charles Sturt University and CQ University, will be leading the company’s efforts in Australia. Digvijay Gagneja, COO, who leads university relationships for the company, will oversee the region.

“We will also be carrying out due diligence on the universities we start to work with, in the interest of our student communities in India and Nigeria. Factors such as student visa sponsorship, track record of graduate employment, the right curricular accreditations etc are important. Between Jack, Digvijay and team, we will be spending a lot of time on the ground in the coming months, showcasing to universities our rich suite of products, which objectively focuses on matching the right students to the right programmes, creating a win-win across all stakeholders,” Chaturvedi said.
