The National Medical Commission (NMC) has responded to a Supreme Court order by extending the deadline for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG 2023) stray round counselling. This decision aims to address the unfilled All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota MBBS seats.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) concluded the NEET UG counselling on November 15, 2023. However, the portal will be opened again for eligible candidates.

In a recent notification, the NMC directed eligible candidates to update their online details for 1st year MBBS course students admitted for the academic year 2023-24 by November 27, 2023. The online portal, accessible via link, will be reopened for those who meet the criteria.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has already released the results of the NEET UG final stray vacancy round allotment, where 302 candidates secured MBBS seats across various medical colleges. Further details about the last NEET UG counselling round are anticipated and will be communicated on mcc.nic.in. Admission to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses depends on NEET UG rank, facilitated through MCC and state counselling.

The NEET UG exam is slated for May 5, 2024 with registration opening in January. The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting the exam, will soon release the reduced NEET UG syllabus on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
