The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s (ICAI) Board of Studies announced the cut-off date for enrollment in Foundation and Intermediate courses for appearing in September 2024 and January 2025 CA exams. Interested candidates will now be able to register through the official website- eservices.icai.org.
The announcement was made as the institute decided to hold ICAI CA exams thrice in a year in the months of May-June, September and January. Until last year, the CA exams for all three courses were held twice a year. However, now the institute will follow the existing policy only for CA Final course examination, which will be held twice a year in May and November.
According to the new policy, students who have registered with the Board of Studies of ICAI for a minimum period of four months on or before the first day of the examination month and fulfil the conditions specified in Regulation 25F will be eligible to appear in the CA Foundation exam.
For Intermediate course, “Students registered with the institute and produces a certificate to the effect that he has undergone a study course for a period of not less than eight months as on the first day of the month in which the examination is held along with other eligibility conditions specified in Regulation 28G can appear in the next eligible exam”.
“It may be noted that students who have registered in Intermediate Course either through Foundation Route or Direct Entry Route up to 1st January 2024 are eligible for appearing in September 2024 Intermediate Examination,” ICAI added.
On 13 October 2020, the officials approved the proposal to amend the Regulations 25E, 25F and 28F of Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, which now enables candidate to provisionally register in the Foundation course after passing Class 10 board exam.
