More women than men have secured a score of 100 percentile in a minimum of one subject in the debut edition of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET), as per the exam statistics released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Out of all the 21,159 candidates who stood out as toppers in a minimum of one subject, 12,799 out of them were women and 8,360 were men. Amongst the total numbers, 114, 99 belonged to the general category, 9 from OBC, 4 from the economically weaker section (EWS) category, and 2 from the scheduled caste (SC) category.
As per the data English also had the highest number of students with 100 percentile. Followed by 2,065 students who secured a 100 percentile in subjects like political science, and around 1,699 students in the field of business studies. The fourth and fifth subjects with the highest number of 100 percentile securers were spotted in subjects like biology with 1,319 students and economics with 1,187 students.
CUET was initiated this year as a single direct exam to get through soaring cut-offs and Class XII Board marks stating the wide diversity as to how different Boards evaluate their students.
