Hewlett Packard Enterprise in collaboration with Codingal has announced HPE CodeWars 2022, the annual coding competition for students of Classes IX to XII.

This is the second online edition of one of India’s biggest hackathons. The event, which is going to culminate on April 9, 2022, is expecting the participation of over 10,000 students from more than 500 schools across India.

HPE CodeWars 2022 aims to inspire, motivate and engage students to learn to code and find innovative solutions to real-life issues. For CodeBattle, students are required to solve 25 coding-related problems in three hours using any of the programming languages including C, C++, Java, and Python.

Vivek Prakash, co-founder and CEO of Codingal. said, “Tomorrow’s world will be increasingly driven through advancements in technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and Blockchain etc, and some of the best future career opportunities will be around developing and using these technologies to solve problems. We therefore believe that a basic understanding of computer sciences is a must for each school going student.”

Cynthia Srinivas, VP - engineering, Compute Business Group; India site R&D leader HPE, added that the whole agenda behind CodeWars is to encourage and motivate students to learn computer science by introducing them to real-life applications.

HPE CodeWars is a computer programming competition with the intent to evangelise coding among high school students. Started in 1998, CodeWars has since expanded to multiple countries including USA, Spain, Taiwan, and India.
