Chief Minister of Chattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel announced free education to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other backward classes for their competitive exam preparation.
Around 400 students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and EWS are going to receive free education from reputed coaching institutes for CA, CLAT, Engineering, Medicals and others. The project is being set up to support underprivileged children facing financial challenges in the education domain. The competent departments have also been ordered by the CM to set up coaching for students in the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and EWS Category.
Currently, the state has provisions to provide free coaching for all the engineering and medical entrance examinations for students from special categories. This new initiative will now take EWS category students into account.
To secure the future of the Economically weaker section, CM Baghel said, “This initiative is being commenced due to consideration of the aspirations and the financial difficulties of the family of the students who want to pursue different kinds of career options.”
Officials have notified that these students will receive coaching classes for various competitive courses like PMT, PET, NSTE, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, AIIMS, NEET, CA, CS, CLAT, NDA that require admission. Coaching for these examinations will be given to the students through reputed coaching institutes in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg and Bhilai.
