The Chartered Financial Institute (CFI) has released the exam dates for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Levels 1, 2, and 3 exams scheduled for the August and November 2024 sessions, respectively. The institute administers the CFA exam quarterly, with sessions in February, May, August, and November. Candidates can view the full schedule on the official website, cfainstitute.org.
According to the schedule, the August session exams will take place as follows: Level 1 from August 20 to 26, Level 2 from August 27 to 31, and Level 3 from August 16 to 19. For the November session, the Level 1 exam is scheduled for November 13 to 19, and the Level 2 exam from November 20 to 24.
CFA Exam 2024 Paper Pattern
The CFA exams consist of three levels. For Level 1, candidates will face 180 multiple choice questions, divided equally between two sessions of 2 hours and 15 minutes each, totaling 4.5 hours. The exam is conducted entirely in English without negative marking.
Level 2 exams, held thrice annually in February, August, and November, feature 88 questions. Candidates have 4 hours and 24 minutes to complete the exam, divided into two sessions of 2 hours and 12 minutes each. Each correct answer is worth 3 marks.
Level 3 exams are offered twice a year in May and August. These exams also consist of multiple choice questions and allow candidates 4 hours and 24 minutes to complete them, split into two sessions of 2 hours and 12 minutes each. Each correct answer in the Level 3 exam also carries 3 marks.
CFA Exam 2024 Registration Fees
The registration process for the November session is currently open, with an application deadline of August 7. Candidates must pay a registration fee of USD 1,250 to apply for the exam. Or they can register early with USD 940.
