The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has officially announced the Special Round 1 seat allotment results for admissions to NITs, IIESTs, IIITs, SPAs, and other GFTIs. Candidates participating in the counselling process can now check their allotment status on the official CSAB website.
How to Check CSAB Special Round 1 Seat Allotment Result
- Visit the official CSAB Special website at csab.nic.in/csab-special.
- Click on the ‘Special Round I Seat Allotment Result’ link on the homepage.
- Use your JEE Main application number and password to log in to your CSAB portal.
- Once logged in, navigate to the "Seat Allotment" section and click on the special round 1 link.
- Your seat allotment details, including the allotted college, branch, and category, will be displayed on the screen.
Candidates who have been allotted a seat must exercise their options (freeze, float, slide, surrender, or withdraw) within the specified timeframe. Failure to do so may lead to forfeiture of the allotted seat.
“If you do not opt for FLOAT/ SLIDE/ FREEZE, your currently allotted seat will get cancelled, including the seat allotted in the JoSAA Rounds (even if you had paid the PAF) ”, the official result notification additionally highlighted.
However, candidates from the first round who are not satisfied with their initial allotment can either decline their allotment by selecting the ‘withdraw’ option or opt for the second round by choosing the ‘surrender’ option. Allotment in special round II for these candidates will be considered from the choices higher than the surrendered seat.
The CSAB Special Round is conducted to fill vacant seats in NITs, IIESTs, IIITs, SPAs, and other GFTIs after the conclusion of the JoSAA counselling process. Candidates who couldn't secure a seat in the main rounds or wish to upgrade their allotted seats can participate in the CSAB Special Round.
