Key Guidelines for CBSE Schools

  • Batch Formation: Schools must create batches of 30 students per subject for seamless execution. For larger groups, assessments should be conducted in two or three sessions a day.
  • External and Internal Examiners: While class 10 practicals will be overseen solely by internal examiners, class 12 assessments will involve both internal and external examiners as per CBSE policy.
  • Error-Free Mark Uploads: Schools and examiners must ensure that uploaded marks are accurate, as corrections will not be permitted after submission. Both internal and external examiners must sign an undertaking verifying the correctness of the uploaded data.
  • Non-Disclosure of Marks: To maintain the integrity of the examination process, marks for practicals and internal assessments will not be disclosed to students or external parties.
  • Special Provisions for Students
  • Regular Students: Practical exams will be conducted based on the eligibility status of students submitted through the List of Candidates (LOC). Schools must contact regional offices in case of discrepancies.
  • Private Students: Marks for private candidates will be assigned following CBSE’s Examination Bye-laws.
  • Unfair Practices and Penalties

CBSE has issued a strict warning against any attempt to influence examiners or disrupt the assessment process. Any instance of malpractice will lead to immediate reporting and potential cancellation of the practical exams.

The guidelines further specify that CBSE retains the right to cancel and reschedule practical examinations if the SOPs are violated.

As per the CBSE datesheet released on November 20, 2024, the theory exams for class 10 and class 12 will commence on February 15, 2025, with class 10 exams concluding on March 18, 2025, and class 12 exams ending on April 4, 2025. This year, CBSE will oversee the examinations of approximately 44 lakh students across India and abroad.
