The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted recent reports suggesting a 15 percent syllabus reduction for the 2025 board examinations for classes 10 and 12.
In a formal statement, CBSE clarified that “no such policy decision” has been made, dismissing these claims as unfounded. The Board emphasized that any official announcements regarding its policies are exclusively issued through its official website or authorized communication channels.
As reported by the ANI, "The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) would like to clarify that the Board has not issued any such notice or made any changes to the evaluation system or examination policy, and no official announcement has been made in this regard. Therefore, such reports are considered baseless."
The rumours of a syllabus reduction reportedly emerged following comments attributed to Vikas Kumar Agrawal, a CBSE regional officer, who allegedly mentioned a syllabus cut during an address at a school principals’ summit titled ‘Bridging the Gap’ in Indore.
In other updates, CBSE is expected to release the class 10 and 12 board exam date sheets by the end of November, consistent with its usual timeline. The 2025 board exams are expected to commence on February 15, 2025, though the official date confirmation remains pending.
