Apparently this has been the first year that the CBSE board has held two Board exams for its class 12 students. For the academic session of 2021-22 the CBSE had introduced a different format which relied on two terms namely Term-I and Term-II. The Term-I board exams were held in the month of November - December last year, where as the Term-II exams began from April 26.
The decision to separate the exams in two different terms came after the board exams for the academic session 2020-21 were cancelled owing to the pandemic. During that time students were evaluated on the basis of their scores in previous exams, internal school assessments and practical examinations.
Around 35 lakh students appeared for their class 10th and 12th exams this year. The students need to score a minimum of 30 per cent marks in each of their papers to get the pass certificate by the board.
