The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the registration date for students of classes IX and XI for the 2022-23 academic session.

The registration link will be made available on the CBSE website from December 15 and the affiliated schools can enrol their students for classes IX and XI through the online portal.

The last date for registration is December 30, 2021. However, registrations can also be done between December 31, 2021 and January 7, 2022 with a late fee of Rs 2,000.

The CBSE circular added, “Only those students shall be allowed to appear for class X/XII Board’s Examinations for session 2022-23, whose names would be submitted through the online process of registration...”

Few other things the board needs affiliated schools to ensure are:

  • Students being sponsored are their own and bonafide students
  • They are not from any unauthorised or unaffiliated schools
  • Students regularly attend class in the respective school
  • Students are not registered with any other school education board apart from CBSE

It is also mandatory for schools to register themselves before proceeding for online submission. Schools must use the ‘affiliation number’ as user ID, which they already have.

Every affiliated school shall present a list of the number of students and their particulars for classes IX, X, XI, and XII at the beginning of an academic session in the manner prescribed by the board.

The board has instructed schools to upload the correct data after cross checking as no window for correction will be made available from this year onwards.

The circular further informs that all newly affiliated schools should contact the concerned regional office of the board to get the school code and password if they have not received the particulars.
