The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has re-evaluated the OMR sheets of the Class X Odia exam with the correct answer key approved by an expert committee, benefitting over 28,000 students.
The revised performance of students has been sent to the schools and they will in turn inform the students.
The CBSE had set up an expert committee to probe alleged discrepancies in the question-and-answer key of the Odia paper for Class X first-term exams. The panel submitted its report at 6pm on Monday. Based on the report, the OMRs were re-evaluated.
“A dispute was received from a school regarding the answer key of Odia subject in Class X, claiming that the answers given in the answer key for some questions are wrong," the CBSE said in a statement.
“It was directed by Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan that the dispute must be resolved within the next 24 hours and students' grievances immediately and appropriately addressed,” the CBSE said in an official statement. “Accordingly, with a view to ascertaining the factual position, an expert committee was constituted by CBSE for examining the discrepancies mentioned in the representation.”
A total of 28.310 students have benefitted as a result of this revision, the CBSE said.
